About Ardennen op Reis
Forests as far as the eye can see, rivers to paddle and here and there a castle on a hill, and all of it within a day's drive of London. Ardennen op Reis is for anyone who fancies that, but likes to know beforehand what the trip costs and what to expect.

How we work
Transparency is not small print for us, it is the added value: you can see exactly where every figure comes from.
- Distances and driving times: calculated with open route data (OpenStreetMap via OSRM), on the English pages from London St Pancras, via LeShuttle (Folkestone–Calais) or the Dover–Calais ferry, without breaks, traffic or the crossing itself.
- Fuel: official maximum prices in Belgium (FOD Economie) and average pump prices in the UK (UK DESNZ weekly road fuel prices), each with a date.
- Every figure gets a source and a reference date. What we have not been able to check yet, we simply do not state as fact.
- Places to stay: we pick addresses for their location and facilities and say honestly whether we have stayed there ourselves. We label affiliate links as ads.
Independent
