Privacy and cookie statement

Thanks for taking a moment to read this. In short: you can browse our site in peace, without an account, without newsletter pop-ups and without tracking cookies from us. Below you can read exactly how that works.

In brief

  • You do not need an account, and there are no forms or newsletters.
  • We do not use advertising cookies. Only if you consent in the cookie banner do we use Microsoft Clarity to measure how the site is used.
  • A few external services are technically needed to show the site. They are listed below.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Cloudflare (Cloudflare Pages), which also provides the domain name (DNS). Like any website host, Cloudflare processes technical data to deliver the pages and protect the site, such as your IP address, the time and the page requested. We do not use this data to track visitors. Cloudflare may also process data outside the EU. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Visitor statistics: Microsoft Clarity (only with consent)

If you consent in the cookie banner, we load Microsoft Clarity from Microsoft. This shows us how visitors use the site so that we can improve it: which pages you view, how you scroll and where you click (including links to partners), plus technical data such as device, browser, screen size and an approximate location based on your IP address. Clarity can also show visits as session recordings and heatmaps. Without consent we do not load Clarity and no data is sent to Microsoft.

Clarity sets cookies, including _clck and _clsk on our site and CLID (and possibly others, such as MUID) from Microsoft. Microsoft determines how long these cookies and the data are kept. Microsoft may process data outside the EU, including in the United States. See Clarity's cookie list and Microsoft's privacy statement.

The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw or change it at any time via at the bottom of every page. We store your choice in the local storage (localStorage) of your own device.

Fonts

The fonts are hosted on our own site and loaded from there. Your browser does not contact Google Fonts.

Links to other sites and affiliate links

We link to official sources and to Booking.com. The buttons labelled “Ad · affiliate link” are Booking.com affiliate links via CJ Affiliate (see the disclaimer). These links do not set cookies on our own site. If you click one, you go via CJ's servers (including dpbolvw.net, cj.dotomi.com and emjcd.com) to Booking.com. CJ and Booking.com may set cookies and process data to attribute a booking to us, including outside the EU. CJ's privacy policy and Booking.com's privacy and cookie statement apply.

On the activities with kids page we also link to Viator and GetYourGuide, with the same label “Ad · affiliate link”. If you click one, you go straight to viator.com or getyourguide.com. These providers may set cookies and process data to attribute a booking to us; their own privacy statement applies.

Email

If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply to you. We do not share them with others and do not keep them longer than necessary. Our email runs via TransIP (the Netherlands).

Your rights

You can ask us at any time what data we hold about you and ask us to correct or delete it. You can also object. You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, or the authority where you live (in the UK, the ICO).
