A castle on a long rocky ridge, the Semois winding around it and viewpoints that leave you lost for words for a moment: Bouillon is the southernmost destination on our list, and you can feel it in the peace and quiet. From London it is just under 6 hours' driving via the Channel Tunnel, plus the 35-minute crossing; we have already found out what there is to do there.
By Arjan Zuur · figures checked on 21 October 2026, prices 22 October 2026, route from London 24 October 2026 · About us
You walk through the castle's passages, paddle on the Semois and look out from the Tombeau du Géant over one of the most beautiful river bends in Belgium. If you want to go further, Orval Abbey is just over half an hour away.
Below you will find the route, four places you do not want to miss, the City Pass and other 2026 prices, three places to sleep and local tips, from regional beer to Semois tobacco.
Four things best checked just before you set off. All buttons lead to the official source.
