Snow in the Ardennes is never certain, but when it falls, it settles first in the High Fens and at the Baraque de Fraiture. Then you can go cross-country skiing, sledging and walk over boardwalks through the white moorland, just under six hours' drive from London to Malmedy via the Channel Tunnel, plus the crossing. If no snow falls, the Christmas markets, the Spa thermal baths and a castle at Christmas time are a great plan B.
