The town that gave every spa in the world its name: in Spa, everything has revolved around water for centuries. You float in the thermal baths at the top of the hill, taste the iron-rich water of the Pouhon and stroll around the Lac de Warfaaz. From London it is about 5½ hours' driving via the Channel Tunnel, plus the 35-minute crossing.
